Driving Directions
From the North
- Take 1-465 South
- Exit East on to 38th Street
- Turn South (right) on to Moller Road
- Turn East (left) on to 30th Street
- Turn South (right) on to Georgetown Road

From the South
- Take I-465 North
- Exit east onto Crawfordsville Road (exit 16A)
- Follow Crawfordsville Road east on to 16th street
- IMS will be on your left
From the East
- Take I-70 W

From the West
- Take I-70 E

Outside Paid Parking
Parking & Camping Code of Conduct - this information pertains to all parking lots outside of the facility. The following policies have been adopted by IMS to provide a safe and enjoyable experience to all fans:
- All patrons must comply with all state, local, and federal laws.
- Each patron should act responsibly and be considerate of others.
- Space is assigned on a "first come, first served" basis. Saving space is only permitted with a proof of purchase for the saved space.
- The speed limit is 5 MPH.
- A valid IMS parking permit must be displayed at all times, including for re-admission. This includes motorcycles.
- Port-o-lets and trash barrels are provided for your convenience.
- The following are not allowed in any IMS parking lot: scaffolds, platforms, box trucks, golf carts, ATVs and mini-bikes. Motorcycles and scooters may only be used to and from the street and the campsite.
- Fire lanes must remain open at all times.
- Excessive noise is not permitted. Loud generators must be turned off during night hours. The noise ordinance of the Town of Speedway will be enforced. See, Section 9.12 of the Speedway Municipal Code.
- All policies, rules, regulations, codes and the like of the Indiana and Marion County health departments must be honored.
- Do not dump waste or wastewater on IMS properties.
- Swimming pools are not permitted on IMS properties.
- Flag Poles and any other raised conductive structures are not permitted within 50 feet of overhead power lines.
- All pets must be kept on a leash while outside your vehicle. Please clean up after your pet.
- Fireworks are not permitted on IMS properties. Violators may be ejected and/or prosecuted.
- Unless specifically agreed by IMS (in writing), selling of merchandise (tickets, firewood, ice, etc.) is not permitted in any IMS lot.
- Open ground fires are not permitted. Fires in approved elevated devices are permitted.
- All awnings (tailgating) must be taken down prior to the green flag on Race Day.
- No liability is assumed by IMS (or its affiliates) for loss or damage by fire, theft or otherwise to you, your guests, any of your belongings or your vehicle - use of this parking lot is at your own risk.
- No firearms or weapons (of any kind) are permitted on IMS properties.
- IMS reserves the right to remove any vehicle from any IMS property for any reason.
Lot 1A is located northwest of the intersection at Georgetown Road and 25th Street. The entrance to this lot is on Georgetown Road just north of 25th Street across from credential Gate 9A to the facility.

Lot 1B is located on Georgetown Road just south of 30th Street, with the entrances all along the lot to be opened as the lot fills.

Lot 1C is located on 30th Street just west of Georgetown Road, with the entrances of this lot opening from the east to the west to be opened as the lot fills on Race morning.

Lot 2 is located on Georgetown Road across from pedestrian Gate 6 to the infield. The entrances are an extension of 20th Street and can be reached via Auburn St. or off of Georgetown Road.

Lot 3 Grass is located on 16th Street to the east of the Brickyard Plaza Shopping Center. The entrance to this lot is off of 16th Street at the main entrance to the Brickyard Plaza Shopping Center across from the pedestrian Gate 3 entrance. The 16th Street entry to the grass lot is only used for exit only after the race.

Lot 3 Pavement is located on 16th Street and is also known as the Brickyard Plaza Shopping Center. The entrance for this lot is the main entrance to the plaza across from the pedestrian Gate 3 entrance.

- No box trucks or box trailers are permitted on the lot.
- No throwing of frisbees, footballs, or baseballs, and no other games will be permitted on the pavement.
- No skateboards or roller skates will be permitted on the pavement.
- No stakes will be permitted to be driven in to the pavement.
- Only one towed vehicle is allowed per RV pass and if it and the RV cannot be parked on the same area, the lot manager may designate a special area for parking any extra vehicles.
- Any decision interpreting or enforcing these policies is at the discretion of IMS.

Lot 4 is located northeast of the intersection of 25th Street and Georgetown Road. The entrance to this lot is the same as for the house that sits on this property. The entrances further north on Georgetown Road will be closed.

- This is a family oriented lot. Rowdy behavior or disruption to other campsites will result in removal from the lot.
- Any tow vehicles must be parked on the same space as the accompanying RV. If any tow vehicles will not fit, the lot manager may designate a special area for their parking.
- Any decision interpreting or enforcing these policies is at the discretion of IMS.

Lot 4A Premium is located on Georgetown Road just north of the credential Gate 9A to enter the facility. The entrance to this lot is directly across from the south end of Lot 1B

- Tent camping is not permitted in this lot.
- The dump station and water is provided for the convenience of 4AP patrons only.
- No stakes shall be driven into the ground.
- Any tow vehicles must be parked on the same space as the accompanying RV. If any tow vehicles will not fit, the lot manager may designate a special area for their parking.
- Any decision interpreting or enforcing these policies is at the discretion of IMS.

Lot 6 is located on Myers Drive. Myers Drive is a north/south Street easily accessible from 25th Street near Georgetown Road. The entrance to this lot is at the south end of Myers Drive.

Infield Parking & Lot 7 (North 40) - very limited free parking on days of track activity for automobiles only during oval events. During MotoGP a small number of motorcycles will be parked in the south end of the North 40.

Specific Policies
- Limited free parking on days of track activity.
- Camping of any kind is not allowed.
- Trucks larger than one ton are not permitted to enter the infield. Camper shells may not exceed cab height by more than 12 inches.
- No box trucks or box trailers are permitted.
- Vans larger than 15-passenger are not permitted on the grounds unless prior authorization has been received by the safety office.
- There is no public motor home or RV parking on the infield.
- Buses are not permitted in the infield without prior authorization from the safety office.
- Limousines and taxis are not allowed to park in the infield without prior authorization from the safety office. Such vehicles are allowed to enter Gate 2 to drop off and pick up passengers in front of the museum on practice days only.
- At all times, vehicles on IMS property shall be operated in a safe, courteous manner, based on current conditions, at speeds not to exceed 20 mph.
- IMS is not responsible for damage or personal injury caused by or to vehicles that are not owned or operated by IMS or its authorized representatives.
- Hours of Operation - based on gate opening time for the day of activity.
- Surface - grass
Motorcycle Parking
- Guests with motorcycles during oval events are permitted to enter Gate 2 and proceed directly to the motorcycle lot located behind the South Terrance Grandstand. Free inflield motorcycle parking will be offered for the MotoGP event weekend, information will be given later.
- Mopeds and scooters are not permitted on the Speedway premises without IMS permission. Mopeds or scooters used to transport guests to and from the premises shall be treated the same as motorcycles.
- At all times, vehicles on IMS property shall be operated in a safe, courteous manner, based on current conditions, at speeds not to exceed 20 mph.
- IMS is not responsible for damage or personal injury caused by or to vehicles that are not owned or operated by IMS or its authorized representatives.
- All motorcycles used in any of the outside paid parking lots must have an automobile pass for the duration of their stay.
Outside Paid Parking Disabled Procedure - Disabled parking in the outside parking lots is available in the lots listed below. Along with a daily parking pass for the lot in which you would like to park each customer must have a state issued disabled hangtag or license plate on/in their vehicle. The disabled areas will be filled on a first come first serve basis for those that have the appropriate passes. At the point in which the disabled area is full all vehicles with daily parking passes will be parked together.
- Daily Disabled Parking will be available in the following lots:
- Lot 1B
- Lot 2
- Lot 3 Pavement (although daily parking is not permitted on the pavement otherwise; any Lot 3 Grass auto pass accompanied with a state issued disabled tag will be granted a disabled space in the front of the lot assuming the area isn't full)
- Hall of Fame Museum (inside Gate 2) - this parking is on the inside of the facility and is on a first come first serve basis. No additional parking pass issued by IMS is required for this lot.
Guest Trams
- Tram service is offered to guests of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from the time that public gates open until approximately 6:30 pm.
Exiting the Race
- Take in to consideration the number of people attending the event. Obviously the more people and cars, the longer it will take you to get home. Also, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, which will aid in getting everyone home quicker.
Tailgating
- Tailgating is permitted in the daily parking areas of the following lots:
- Lot 7 (North 40)
- Inside Turn 3
- Inside Turn 1
- Lot 1B
- Lot 1C
- Lot 2
- Lot 3 Grass
- Grilling is allowed on small portable grills. No dumping of charcoal or ashes is allowed.
- Portable shelters (i.e. EZ Up shelters) no larger than 10'x10' are allowed in designated tailgating areas. They must be set up behind the vehicle, not taking another parking spot or hindering vehicle or pedestrian travel areas. Shelters must be secured to the vehicle.
- All shelters must be put away at the time of the green flag on race day in Lots 1B, 1C, 2, & 3 Grass.
