IndyCar Series racing fans won't just be able to attend the Indianapolis 500 in person next year, or watch the broadcast at home - on the 2010 Memorial Day weekend anyone in the world who has a PC and a broadband internet connection will be able to drive in a stunningly realistic virtual version of the race. Under the terms of a multi-year partnership with the Indy Racing League, iRacing.com's motorsport simulation service will offer fans the opportunity to compete in virtual versions of IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights races on a variety of tracks, including Indianapolis Motor Speedway, beginning this fall. Additionally, iRacing will feature faithful digital reproductions of both series' Dallara chassis. iRacing Site | IMS Tickets | Buy IndyCar Gear Read Full Story |

I've been looking forward to this partnership for years!! Kaemmer was raised in Greencastle, Indiana and with his first software game "Indianapolis 500, The Simulation" he set the bar for all others in the computer racing community. Only he and his Papyrus Design Group were able to continually raise the level of Indy Car simulation (as well as Nascar style computer racing) to a level that is still unsurpassed by any other design group. I've watched with interest the development of the iRacing.com simulation efforts and wondered if the midwestern boy from Indiana would return to his roots? This partnership speaks for itself!! Thanks Dave and the IRL for what should be an outstanding chance for us armchair drivers to experience the greatest spectacle in racing. |

I've been waiting on this partnership for years. Dave Kaemmer was raised in Greencastle Indiana and with the success of his first racing game "Indianapolis 500 The Simulation" his Papyrus Design Group set the bar year after year, for both Indy Car and Nascar style of computer racing. Being a long time fan of his work I've watched with interest his latest efforts with the iRacing.com team. The question of when would this midwestern boy return to his roots have finally been answered. Thanks to Dave and the IRL this partnership through iRacing.com will be a welcomed effort to us armchair drivers that wish to experience the greatest spectacle in racing!! |
