 2010 Indy 500 Preparations To Accelerate At IMS Test Sept. 29-30 The 2010 Indianapolis 500 is more than eight months away, but preparations for "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" will reach top speed during testing Sept. 29-30 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves and 2007 Indy winner Dario Franchitti are testing tires both days for Firestone, while Marco Andretti, Vitor Meira and Tomas Scheckter are testing a new rear-wing aerodynamic configuration proposed for the 2010 Indy 500. Testing is scheduled from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (ET) both days. Spectators can watch for free from the infield stands south of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum.
