re: I have to agree. The "race" did not live up to the hype. Essentially a 500 mile parade with a lot of caution laps thrown in. The Monaco GP took place the same day and by contrast was an outstanding race. Another nail in the coffin lid of IRL? Indianapolis 500 You know, all I have to say is that you OBVIOUSLY are NOT a TRUE IRL fan and apparently not very knowledgeable. There is nothing like actually experiencing the Indy 500 first hand, live and in person. Where I admit it would be less appealing watching it on tv (which I did as well) but being there not only at the race but also at qualifications is definitely "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing in the World!" You should try it some time, if you have then the IRL IS NOT FOR YOU!!

They're not ALL classics! I spoke to someone after the race who listened on the radio. She said the race sounded, "herky-jerky" and I couldn't agree more! What makes the finish in '06 or 1992 so special is that not all the races go that way. In fact the '92 event was terrible 'till the finish. Chill out! This race was rougher than others, but still very good.

What a great race I have been to every Indy 500 since 91. The fans and the race is back. What a great event. There was passing going on throughout the whole field the whole race, with more then 20 cars finishing on the lead lap! John Eab you are an idiot, and you would not know good racing if it smacked you in the face. S
