I can tell you a little bit about your Grandfather. In 1964, my Dad worked on the Observers Crew, for the Indianapolis 500, and thru Dad, I met Eddie. I was only 10 years old at the time, but I can tell you, that virtually everytime I was at the Speedway, in 1964, with Dad, Eddie would meet me at the Firestone Garage, at the cross-walk, in Gasoline Alley, we would talk a little bit, and then after he de-briefed with his crew, we would go to lunch in the Driver's Cafeteria. Needless to say, your Grandfather was my hero. He was the nicest driver in racing, and would always make time for his young fans. |
