Likewise, it was fun when AJ and Mario and Gurney had contracts that allowed them to run the Daytona 500, Indy and LeMans.]]>

It is upsetting because it seems like this is the worst car that John has had the last few years at the 500.  I think the team has over-extended its resources just trying to get a bunch of cars into the field.  The Petty-Andretti alliance has been amazing in creating buzz across both series that John runs in and I am extremely thankful for the great people at Window World for giving John a shot to run in the Daytona 500, the Indy 500, and the majority of the Sprint Cup Series races.  I hope Window World is not discouraged by John's runs, I think it is just the level of equipment he is able to get.

The best case scenario for Window World and John for next season would be:
Daytona 500 with FRM
Indy 500 with any team (Heck, John was competitive with Roth last year)
Full Nationwide Series with a top-15 team

I think with the car John has after the wreck he will qualify around 27th and finish a couple laps down in 20th.

Last year he was able to run in and around the top 10 with the Roth machine and barely got lapped in the closing stage of the race because of mechanical issues.  Two years ago he was running around trying to figure the car out after starting in the back because of  signing a second week deal when a freak incident with the side mirror falling off killed his race.  This year a dream of a top 5-10 run is gone, but I think if he keeps the car clean it can be decent.]]>
